Security alert in Londonderry
A number of suspicious objects have been discovered in Londonderry on Friday.
Army bomb disposal experts attended the scene of the alert which was in the Waterside area of the city.
It is understood that the haul may include six coffee-jar bombs discovered in a garden shed at a house in Lincoln Courts.
Local residents have been moved from a number of houses in the area to a local community hall nearby. There are no further details at present.

One Week Until Spend Local Card Scheme Opens For Applications
People have been urged to have all their key information together when they apply for their Spend Local card, while also being reminded that there will be "enough time for everyone to apply". Economy Minister Gordon Lyons has reminded applicants to the High Street Scheme that the applications portal will be open from 27 September to 25 October.

Two million cigarettes bound for NI seized
Nearly two million smuggled cigarettes destined for Northern Ireland have been seized by Customs officers in Liverpool. The Sovereign-branded cigarettes were discovered hidden in lead-lined crates of plate glass during an x-ray and physical examination at the city’s Seaforth Docks.
