Co Antrim village hit by floods
A clear up operation is under way in a Co Antrim village today after flash floods swept through the area in the early hours of this morning.
Heavy rain saw several cars submerged in Rasharkin's Bridge Street with water rising to waist height in some places.
It is believed a nearby river broke its banks following the heavy downpour adding to the flooding. However, a spokesperson for the Rivers Agency said the flooding was now under control.
Bridge Street is currently closed to traffic with motorists being advised to take extra care due to treacherous road conditions in the area.
