Women attacked with tar in west Belfast

Police are appealing for information after two women were attacked and covered in tar in their west Belfast home at the weekend.

Three hooded men smashed the front windows of a house in Hopewell Crescent in the Shankill area at about 6.50pm on Sunday before entering the property and throwing a tar-like substance over the two women.

The masked men then informed one of the women that they had 12 hours to get out of the house.

Police have not established a motive for the attack and have appealed for witnesses to contact them on 028 9065 0222 or Crimestoppers at 0800 555111.
