Four die in separate road accidents

Four people have died, including a 16-month-old baby, following three road accidents across Northern Ireland at the weekend.

In Londonderry, Aisling Nic Suibhre was in a pram when it was struck on the Ardmore Road. She was taken to hospital but died a short time later.

Stephen Thomas White, 17, from Delwood, Eglinton, appeared in court on Monday charged with causing death by dangerous driving. He was also charged with causing grievous bodily injury to a woman who was with the baby's mother.

He was released on bail on the condition that he lives with his parents and does not drive. He is to appear at the city's magistrates court in eight weeks' time.

Meanwhile, two young men travelling in the same car were killed in a crash between Magherafelt and Tobermore on Sunday. The men, aged 21 and 18, have not yet been named.

On Saturday, a motorcyclist died in an accident in Kilrea. The incident occurred on the Moneygran Road at around 2pm. The road was closed for a time while police investigated the crash.
