Paramilitary-style attack leaves victim in hospital

The 30-year-old victim was attacked by a gang who burst into a house on London Road at about 10.45pm.

Three men were seen running from a car – believed to be a silver Ford Mondeo which was later found burning in Templemore Street - in the direction of Avoneil.

Elsewhere, a man and woman have been attacked by a gang wielding baseball bats in Armagh.

Three men entered a flat in the Banbrook Hill area of the city at about 4.30 am on Sunday and assaulted the couple.

The police are still trying to establish a motive for the attack.
