Derry fan belt factory to axe 30 jobs
Around 30 jobs are to go at a fan belt factory in Londonderry, it emerged today.
Management at the Arntz Belting factory have not made any official announcement in regard to the cuts, however engineering union Amicus said the company is planning to transfer one of its departments to a plant in Germany.
It is understood staff were told about the cuts on Friday and that management are due to meet officials from Amicus on Wednesday.
Arntz Belting, which employs about 240 people at its plant at Pennyburn Pass in the city, is part of the Arntz Optibelt which also has a plant - A&M Belting - at Letterkenny in Co Donegal.
The group currently employs some 1,200 employees around the world.

DoH Calls For Participants For New Obesity Strategic Framework
