Man dies after suffering severe burns
A man has died after suffering severe burns in what police are describing as a suspicious incident in Bangor, Co Down on Sunday.
The 43-year-old victim, who was named as Robert Heaney, 43, from Kilclief Gardens in Bangor, was found in a wooded area about half way along Bangor’s Balloo Drive in the vicinity of industrial premises at around 8am.
He was immediately taken to hospital, but died later that evening.
A post mortem examination is to be carried out on the victim.
Police at Bangor have appealed to anyone who was in the Balloo Drive area between 6pm last night and 8am on Sunday morning and witnessed any suspicious activity, to contact them on 028 9145 4444 or via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

Toddler 'critical' after fireplace incident
A three-year-old boy has been taken to hospital after a fireplace fell on top of him. The incident happened at around 8am yesterday morning, at a house in Skye Park in the Ballykeel estate in Ballymena, when the fireplace collapsed on top of the child.

Two Men Arrested After Man Assaulted In Newtownards
Two men have been arrested after a man was attacked at knife-point. The assault happened on the Lisbane Drive area of Newtownards just before 1.30pm on Thursday, 07 December. The 26-year-old victim was attacked and the two suspects made off with a sum of cash. The men, aged 21 and 22, were arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary.

Holywood filling station robbed
A male shop assistant has been threatened at gunpoint at a filling station in Co Down. The employee was confronted by two men, one of whom had a hand gun, at around 8pm when they entered the store on the Ballymiscaw Road, Holywood and demanded money.

Arrest Made In England Over Michael Kerr's Murder
Police investigating the murder of Bangor man Michael Kerr last month have made an arrest in England. A 50 year-old suspect was detained in Birmingham on suspicion of murder. He has been taken into custody at Musgrave Station for questioning. The pensioner was found dead at his Birch Drive home on Tuesday 19 November.
