Sellers warned to be wary of telephone callers
Detectives in Fermanagh are advising people selling their cars to be wary of unsolicited calls offering help with the sale.
The advice follows an incident in which a local man advertised his car in a specialist magazine and was then phoned by an unconnected company that said it could help sell the car, and asked for credit card details.
Constable Hazel Gray, the Crime Prevention Officer at Enniskillen police station advised caution: "If advertising a car or other goods in a newspaper or magazine, beware of any calls from another company stating that they have spotted your advert and can help you sell your property for a fee, which you can pay by quoting your credit card details over the phone,” Constable Gray said.
“You will probably have never heard of the company and the person on the end of the phone is a stranger. Therefore, never disclose your credit card details to an unknown or untested source."

Northern Ireland is to be included in a new UK-wide Tobacco and Vapes Bill, which will make it illegal to sell tobacco products to anyone born on or after 1 January 2009. The proposed legislation will also provide powers to allow for further regulatory measures to address youth vaping.

Power NI Announces New 6.3% Price Decrease
