Families forced out in arson attack
Two families have been forced out of their homes in the Whitewell area in North Belfast in what is being treated by police as a suspected arson attack.
One man was injured in the blaze which is believed to have been started by an oil tank which was set alight.
The incident happened at the nationalist Old Throne Park development at around 01:00 this morning.
A further two oil tanks were set alight as the flames quickly spread and engulfed two homes and damaged several cars.
Police are investigating how the fire started and the residents in the area are blaming loyalists for the fire.

Arson Attack On Bangor Flats
A number of flats had to be evacuated after an oil tank was set alight in Bangor. Police are treating the the incident as arson. At around 10.40pm on Tuesday the emergency services were call to the fire in the Victoria Road. Substantial damage was caused to two flats, however there were on reports of injuries.

ASSEMBLY CREATE AWARD TO HONOUR FIRE SERVICE
THE Northern Ireland Fire Service is to receive the first ever award given by the province's devolved assembly. An illuminated scroll is to be presented to Chief Fire Officer John McClelland on Tuesday, by assembly speaker Lord Alderdice in tribute to the sacrifice made by fire fighters over the years.

Eleventh Night Bonfire 'Deliberately' Set Alight In Lisburn
A bonfire has been set alight in Lisburn in the early hours of Friday morning. The Eleventh Night bonfire at Old Warren is believed to have been lit at around 3am, according to the police. The cause of the fire is being treated as deliberate.

Belfast School Fire Was Arson
A fire at a popular school in east Belfast was arson, the police have said. The suspicious blaze at Orangefield High School was reported to the PSNI at about 11.30pm on Sunday and it is believed windows were smashed and three ground floor classrooms set alight. The school's Principal, Karen Burrell, said the building was badly smoke-damaged.

Derry Blaze 'Suspicious', Say Police
There has been a second suspicious fire within days in which a victim has been trapped. This time the blaze was in Londonderry and, like the one in Co Down the previous night, it is being treated as suspicious, police have confirmed.
