Two brothers attacked in Lisburn

Two Polish brothers have been treated in hospital following an attack in Lisburn at the weekend.

Both men, who are aged in their 20s, were assaulted near a bonfire, however police are still unsure of exactly what happened.

Detectives said they are not ruling out a “racial" motive for the assaults which saw one of the men suffer a broken arm while the other was treated for head injuries.

Elsewhere, a car has been damaged in a petrol bomb attack in Donaghadee overnight.

The vehicle was parked behind a house in Barnagh Park when a window was smashed and the device thrown in at around midnight.

Three windows in the owner's house were also broken. However, no one was injured.

Anyone with information on either incident is asked to contact police on 028 9065 0222 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
