Tyrone draw with Dublin at Croke

It is all to play for again at Croke Park as Tyrone must face Dublin in the replay of the All-Ireland Football quarter-final on Saturday, August 27.

A second-half fight back by Tyrone from a 0-8 to 1-10 score line following a Dubs goal on the stoke of half-time from Tomas Quinn, saw Tyrone take the lead 1-14 to 1-12 after Owen Mulligan found the Dubs net.

This sealed the rescue for Tyrone who had come out in the second-half with renewed vigour as in the first-half Dublin mid-field had held sway.

Tyrone had already missed an earlier goal opportunity as O'Neill failed to find the net as Peter Canavan much to the Tyrone supporters liking had taken to the field in the second-half minute, served him a finely judged ball.

Tyrone were not to be denied, taking three points to put the northern side ahead by two points.

Dublin's Tomas Quinn who had missed a free, later took a point just before injury time.

Tyrone looked to keep the ball in the final minutes, but a slip saw possession go to the Dubs who failed to make a goal opportunity count as the ball fell into the Tyrone keeper's hands.

But it was Quinn who stepped up to point and level the match for the Dubs in the final seconds of the match.

For Tyrone this week there was good news as manager Micky Harte has confirmed that Colin Holmes is expected to be fit for selection.

While Holmes sat out the Dubs tie on the bench, he was a surprise addition to the squad last Saturday as a knee injury had threatened to see the mid-fielder sidelined for the season.
