Body of missing Bangor woman may be in water

The body of missing Bangor woman Lisa Dorrian may have been hidden in water, police said today.

This latest development in the case was revealed as detectives prepared to make a fresh appeal on the BBC's Crimewatch programme to be screened on Thursday.

The 25-year-old shop assistant was last seen at a party on a caravan site in Ballyhalbert, Co Down, in February.

Loyalist paramilitaries, and in particular the Loyalist Volunteer Force (LVF), are thought to have been behind Lisa’s murder, however the LVF has denied any involvement in the killing.

Despite a £10,000 reward offered by the family for information leading to the recovery of her body, no information has been forthcoming.

Tonight's Crimewatch programme will be aired on BBC 1 at 9pm followed by an update at 10.35pm.
