Downpatrick road crash kills teenager

A young man has died following a road traffic collision in Co Down on Thursday.

The victim, 17-year-old Peter Tumelty, from Annacloy, was travelling along the Tullynacree Road outside Downpatrick when the incident occurred. There are no further details at present.

Anyone who was travelling along the Tullynacree Road and who witnessed the collision is asked to contact police at Downpatrick on 028 4461 5011.

Man Attacked With Baseball Bats In North Belfast
A man has been left with a suspected broken leg after he was attacked with baseball bats in north Belfast. Police are investigating the incident, which occurred in the Hartwell Place area this morning, 15 August, as a suspected paramilitary style attack. Two masked men armed with baseball bats approached a man in his 30's at around 2.25am.

£769k Lost To Email Scams In July
Local individuals and businesses were swindled out of over £769,000 in email hacking scams last month, police have revealed. Reported scams in recent weeks include losses ranging from £20-£400,000, using a variety of fraudulent techniques known as mandate frauds, where emails have been compromised or spoofed to fool vicims.
