Professional recognition for local estate agent

Bangor based estate agent Trevor Patterson has become a Member of the National Association of Estate Agents (NAEA), the professional body that works to promote high standards of professionalism in the industry.

Trevor Patterson is the owner of Optimum Real Estate, which operates throughout Northern Ireland and beyond.

Welcoming him to membership, Peter Bolton King, Chief Executive of the NAEA said: “Joining is a sign of real commitment to the profession and to high standards of service.

“To be eligible to any grade other than student grade, new applicants to the NAEA are accepted by qualification only. Once accepted for membership, they are bound by a strict code of conduct that protects the interests of buyers and sellers and gives them recourse in the event of any problems. This is a powerful reassurance for customers that their interests will be managed diligently.”

Trevor said: “One important reason for my application was the realisation that NAEA membership would enable me to work more effectively on my clients’ behalf – benefits for members include a range of services covering everything from searching for appropriate properties, to fast access to the latest information on legal issues.”

The NAEA currently has over 10,000 members. It provides professional support for its members, represents the industry at Government level, and offers quality professional training to the industry.

At the beginning of 2005 it introduced new degree-level qualifications for senior estate agency practitioners.
