Three arrested in connection with cigarettes seizure

Three men have been arrested in connection with the seizure of millions of cigarettes during a police operation in Armagh on Thursday.

The searches were part of a PSNI investigation into serious and organised crime linked to dissident republicans.

Elsewhere, cocaine with an estimated street value of more than £100,000 has been discovered in Dungannon.

A member of the public was out walking their dog in a local park when they discovered the drugs hidden in the Peatlands Park area of the town on Thursday morning.

They took the haul to a local police station where it was examined and confirmed as cocaine.

Anyone who regularly uses the park has been asked by the police on 028 8775 2525 or on the new non-emergency number 0845 600 8000.
