Armed robber strikes five times in County Antrim

Four petrol stations and a shop in County Antrim have been targeted in a spate of robberies on Friday night.

The first incident occurred in a shop on the Rashee Road in Ballyclare, when a man armed with a knife confronted a female shop manager and demanded cash.

He made off on foot with a sum of money and cigarettes.

No one was injured.

A man, fitting the same description carried out four similar styled robberies in filling stations in Ballyclare, Newtownabbey and Glengormley.

Described as being around six feet tall, wearing jeans, a short dark coloured jacket, a navy baseball cap, the man used a scarf to cover his face.

He escaped from each incident on foot but police believe he used a vehicle to travel between each of the scenes.

Police have appealed for anyone with information on any of the robberies to contact them in Newtownabbey on 0845 600 8000.
