Teenager remanded on attempted murder charge
A 19-year-old man has been remanded in custody at Newtownards Magistrates Court charged with attempted murder.
Aaron Nevin Vance, of Beverly Walk in Newtownards was charged with a serious assault on 19-year-old Grant Dugan on Christmas Eve.
The incident occurred in the Meetinghouse Lane in the Conway Square area of the town, when Mr Dugan was stabbed and badly beaten.
Three men also arrested in relation to this assault were released yesterday without charge.
Since then two other men have been detained in connection with the incident.
Mr Vance only spoke once to conform that he understood the charge.
He has been remanded until next month.

A 19-year-old man is due in court over an attempted murder charge at the weekend in south Down. The victim was stabbed in an assault in the Square area of Warrenpoint at around 4.20am early Saturday morning. His condition is not thought to be life-threatening. Police arrested two men after the incident occurred.

Three men released without charge
Three men arrested yesterday in connection with the murder of North Belfast man Jameson Lockhart have been released without charge. Mr Lockhart was fatally shot as he sat in a lorry at the junction of Templemore Avenue on the Lower Newtownards Road in east Belfast, in July 2005.

Two men appear in court charged with attempted murder
Two men have appeared in court today charged with the attempted murder after a taxi driver in Co Down last weekend. The driver was shot in his vehicle after dropping off a fare in the Westwinds estate of Newtownards at around 12 midnight on Saturday. He sustained a number of gunshot wounds to his chest.
