Jobs to go at Arklow credit card facility
EuroConex has confirmed that 42 jobs are to be shed at its credit card clearing facility in Arklow, County Wicklow.
Last year the company announced that following a consolidation of processing bank portfolios across Europe, efficiencies would be sought as part of a restructuring plan in the Irish operation, which at its peak employed around 500 people.
The company had estimated that as many as 75 of the 90 jobs to be cut would be made in Ireland.
In a statement following the announcement of the restructuring programme the company said: "We can ensure our customers that they will experience no interruptions in service levels. All European facilities will remain open and operational. Ireland is and will continue to be an important centre for euroConex."
