Two people released after baby death investigation

A man and a woman, who were arrested in connection with the suspicious death of a baby, have been released.

The 27-year-old man and 21-year-old woman were arrested yesterday following a forensic examination of a house at Ava Parade in the Ormeau Road area of Belfast last week.

On Friday, police began searching a landfill site at Dargan Road for the body of the newborn baby.

However, at this stage, no body has been found.

Man Arrested Over Sudden Death Of Baby
Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the sudden death of a baby in Northern Ireland. A 31 year-old has been arrested after the 11 month-old passed away in Keady, Co Armagh. A post-mortem will be carried out to determine the cause of death.

Man Arrested On Suspicion Of Attempted Murder
A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder over an attack in Coleraine, Co L'Derry. A man, aged in his 50s, is in a critical condition in hospital after he was assaulted at a house on the Ballycastle Road on Monday, 26 September. Two other men were also arrested and have been released on bail pending further enquiries.
