Jobs may be cut at west Belfast company
Around 100 jobs are under threat at a medical equipment company in west Belfast.
The American owned firm Trivirix International has gone into administration and union officials have today warned that jobs may have to be cut.
The company, which has a factory at the Springvale Business Park on the Springfield Road, alerted staff on the possibility of redundancy earlier today.

Almost 200 jobs could go in Fermanagh
Almost 200 jobs could be axed if a County Fermanagh food plant is forced to close. Moy Park foods has said that it has entered into talks with staff over the possible closure of its factory, formerly known as Ferne Foods, in Lisnaskea.

Retailing across Ireland is under pressure as the recession continues to tighten its grip on the economy. It has emerged today that jobs may be lost amid renewed fears over the future of two shoe shop chains. Creditors of the company that owns Barratts and Priceless Shoes have rejected administrators' proposals to have the company re-structured.

Around 300 jobs to go at County Antrim company
Around 300 jobs are to go at a County Antrim electronics company, it has today been reported. US company Sanmina Electronics in Lisburn, which makes computer cabinets, has decided to move the company to Hungary, where it is understood that wage costs will be greatly reduced.

300 jobs boost for Belfast
A Belfast based call centre is expected to create around 300 new jobs, it has today been revealed. The company, Gem, has just won four major contracts, including Channel Four and online entertainment company Play.com.

90 jobs to go at car components factory
Up to 90 jobs could be lost at a County Antrim car components factory, it has emerged. Montupet management met with union representatives yesterday, after it was announced that the company would stop the production of alloy wheels at the Belfast plant due to a drop of around 25% in sales over the last few years.
