Travellers leave fire service site

A group of travellers who had set up camp at a Fire Service training centre in Belfast have left the grounds.

On Wednesday afternoon, a number of caravans arrived at the Fire and Rescue Service's training ground on Boucher Crescent, however after management from the centre threatened legal action, the members of the travelling community moved off the premises last night.

It is understood that approximately eight caravans moved onto the drill yard causing major disruption to the training of new recruits.

This is the third time in two years that travellers have camped in the grounds of the centre.
