Man arrested in connection with Ronald Todd murder

Police have arrested a man in Belfast in connection with the murder of County Antrim car dealer, Ronald Todd.

Detectives investigating the circumstances surrounding Mr Todd's death have said that the man is helping them with their inquiries.

The body of the 30-year-old Lisburn man was recovered from the River Lagan, close to the Stranmillis embankment area of south Belfast on February 14.

Mr Todd was last seen leaving a pub on the Maghaberry Road, outside Lisburn, at about 8pm on December 21 2005.

His Land Rover vehicle was found burnt out, at Ravarnet just outside the city the following day.

At the time of his disappearance, police thought that the father of two may have been murdered because he was believed to be involved in drug dealing.

Post mortem results showed that the victim had suffered multiple head injuries before being tied up and thrown into the Lagan.
