Two killed in County Antrim road crash

Two people have died following a road traffic crash in County Antrim.

The victims were the driver and passenger of a Volkswagen van, which is understood to have left the road in the Hyde Park Road area of Mallusk just before 3.30pm yesterday.

No other vehicle was involved in the incident.

Police in Newtownabbey have appealed for anyone who may have witnessed the incident to contact them.

Meanwhile, the funerals of two teenagers who died in separate road traffic incidents over the Easter holidays, are to take place today.

David Campbell, 18, was killed along with his friends, 19-year-old twin brothers Marc and Wayne Wallace, in a single vehicle crash, on the Ballygowan Road, outside east Belfast at around 1am on Saturday.

The funeral of David Campbell is to take place today, however a date for the funerals of the Wallace twins has still to be arranged.

In a separate incident, Janeen Black, aged 19, from Pomeroy in County Tyrone, died after the car in which she was travelling, was in collision with another vehicle on the Tullyvar Road, near Dungannon, at around 9.30pm on Saturday.

Ms Black's funeral will take place later this afternoon at All Saints Parish church in Crossdermott.

Mr Campbell and Ms Black were among seven people killed on Northern Ireland's roads since Saturday.

On Monday, six-year-old Rory Hunt, was killed during a head-on collision with another vehicle on the Castlewellan Road near Clough in County Down.

Five other people, including his parents were treated in hospital for their injuries following the crash.

Woman Killed In Co Armagh Road Collision
A woman in her 30s has been killed in a road crash in Portadown, Co Armagh. The woman was hit by a car as she was walking on the side of the Moy Road at around 9.45pm on Tuesday. The road was closed for a short time but it has been reopened. Police are appealing for any witnesses to contact them.

Man Dies In Co Antrim Road Crash
A man has died in a collision in Co Antrim. The crash happened on the Tornagrough Road in Hannahstown just before 8am on Wednesday, 27 September. Police are working to establish the circumstances of the collision and identify all of the vehicles involved. The PSNI are appealing for witnesses to contact them.
