Woman sexually assaulted in County Antrim

Police are appealing for information after a woman was sexually assaulted in County Antrim on the early hours of Monday morning.

The attack took place in Juniper Rise in the Twinbrook area of the city at around 1.30am, after the victim got out of a taxi.

Police have revealed that the woman was approached by a man who assaulted her before making off with her handbag.

Detectives have said that they are keen to talk to the taxi driver who brought the woman home, however have stressed that he is being treated as a potential witness and is not believed to have been involved in the incident.

The extent of the woman's injuries have not been revealed, but it is understood that she was not treated in hospital.

Police have asked for anyone who may have witnessed the attack or who may have any information relating to it, to contact them on 0845 600 8000, or on the Crimestoppers number on 0800 555 111.

Police Appeal After Woman Seriously Assaulted In Belfast
Police are appealing for witnesses after a woman was seriously assaulted in Belfast on Saturday 13 June. The woman was attacked outside commercial premises on the Newtownards Road. Police are trying to trace two women who helped the victim. The woman is believed to have been seriously injured.
