West Belfast leisure centre attacked by arsonists

Police in west Belfast have appealed for information, after a number of gas cylinders were set alight in what is thought to have been an arson attack.

A police spokesperson said that windows and the exterior of a leisure centre on the Whiterock Road were set on fire at around 6pm yesterday evening.

The outside of the building was damaged during the blaze, however the interior escaped any serious damage.

The blaze is believed to have been started after the building was broken into and cylinders at the rear were set on fire.

Anyone who may have witnessed the incident, or who may have any information in relation to it, are asked to contact police on 0845 600 8000, or anonymously on the Crimestoppers number on 0800 555 111.

Appeal For Information On 'Nasty' Robbery In Omagh
PSNI detectives have issued an appeal for information following a "nasty" robbery in Omagh. Police received a report, that at around 1.30am on Monday, 19th February a man aged in his in his 40s was cycling in the Cranny Road area of the town, alongside the river, when he was set upon by a group of six people, dressed in dark clothing with hoods up.

Fireman injured in Limavady blaze
A fireman has been treated in hospital following a fire in Co Londonderry early this morning. Around 40 firefighters were involved in the tackling the blaze at the Roe Valley service station in Limavady. The firefighter sustained a leg injury during the fire, which spread to an adjoining building.
