Cemetery vandalised in Glenavy
A Church of Ireland cemetery has been vandalised during an attack yesterday evening.
Headstones were knocked over and urns were smashed at St Aidan's church on the Belfast Road in Glenavy.
It has been reported that youths seen drinking in the area are believed to be responsible for the damage.
The rector of St Aidan's, the Reverend John Rutter, said that the nature of the attack was different from that of breaking a window. He said: "It seems to deny that final resting place. It's really the nature of the attack."
