Funeral of crash victim takes place
The funeral has taken place for one of the four young people killed in a car crash in County Fermanagh at the weekend.
Peter Leonard, 21, was buried after Requiem Mass at the Church of Holy Cross in Lisnaskea this afternoon.
The funeral of the second victim, Danica O`Rourke, 17, who was due to be buried this morning from the same church, was postponed.
It has been reported that the Coroner's Office is making final identification checks before the remains are handed over to the family for burial.
Yesterday, two of the other victims, Anita Swift, 16, and Jonathan McDonald, 21, both from Newtownbutler, were buried following separate funeral services at St Mary's church in the town yesterday.
The four lost their lives in the road traffic incident, which happened just outside Lisnaskea at around 3.30am on Sunday morning. Six people were in the car at the time of the crash, and police have revealed that the four victims were all back-seat passengers when the vehicle left the road and struck a tree on the Moorlough Road.
The driver and front seat passenger managed to escape from the wreckage and were taken to the nearby Erne hospital in Enniskillen for treatment for their injuries, which are not thought to be life threatening.
Yesterday, a PSNI spokesperson confirmed that a 19-year-old man who was arrested for questioning after the incident, was the driver of the car. He was later released on police bail, pending further inquiries.
Yesterday, the victim's families appealed to young drivers to slow down and take care on the roads.
