Pensioner in 'distressed state' following robbery
A pensioner has been left in a "distressed state" after being robbed in her Newtownabbey home yesterday.
The 91-year-old woman was awoken from her sleep when two masked broke into the house on the Carnmoney Road in Glengormley early on Tuesday morning.
The two men confronted the woman before escaping with a large sum of money.
A doctor was called to the scene of the incident to check on the woman's condition.
Police at Newtownabbey are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

Pensioner attacked during burglary of her home
A 90-year-old woman was assaulted during a burglary of her home in Ballygowan, Co Down last night. The woman was confronted by a teenager after hearing noise in her kitchen. The youth then assaulted the elderly woman before escaping into an alley at the back of the house. Police believe an accomplice then joined the assailant.

Woman Found Unconscious On Co Down Road
A woman has been found unconscious on a road in County Down. The woman, aged in her 50s, was discovered on the Sheepland Road at around 4.30am on Sunday. She was taken to hospital where she is believed to be in a serious condition.

Pensioner households in Northern Ireland will begin receiving a £100 fuel support payment from Friday, 21 March, Communities Minister Gordon Lyons has announced. The one-off payment aims to mitigate the impact of changes to the UK government's Winter Fuel Payment (WFP) eligibility criteria.

Almost £10m Awarded In Rates Assistance
Almost £10 million has been awarded in rates assistance in the past year, the Department of Finance has reported. Around 30,000 pensioners have benefited from a 20% reduction in their rates through the Lone Pensioner Allowance while 11,300 properties have been awarded a 25% reduction in their rates through the Disabled Persons Allowance.

Search Continues For Missing Pensioner John Concannon
Gardai and the police are continuing to search for missing pensioner John Concannon. Mr Concannon, 71, who has been missing for a week, was last seen on the Lenamore Road in L'Derry at around 7pm on Tuesday 10 November. Searches are continuing in the area and by Gardaí across the border.
