Man shot in paramilitary style attack

Police in south Belfast have appealed for information after a man was shot during a paramilitary style attack last night.

The incident happened in the Donegall Pass area of the city at around 8.40pm, when a 24-year old man sustained a gunshot wound to his calf.

The victim is believed to have been approached by four men, who proceeded to carry out the shooting, before making their escape in a maroon coloured Ford Mondeo car, in the direction of Tate's Avenue.

The victim was taken to hospital, where he is currently being treated for his injuries, which are not believed to be life threatening.

Three of the attackers are described as being around 5'7 in height and of slim build.

One was wearing navy coloured tracksuit bottoms and a navy top, another is said to be wearing a navy coloured tracksuit and a sky blue top, and a third is believed to have been wearing a light blue Fred Perry shirt and black baseball cap.

Investigation Launched After Arson Attack On Van In Co Antrim
Police have launched an investigation following an arson attack on a van in Ballyclare, Co Antrim. The incident occurred in the Douglas Terrace area on Friday, 21 April. It is believed a window was smashed and a petrol bomb was thrown inside the vehicle causing damage to the interior.

Family escape injury in gun attack
Four people have escaped injury following a gun attack in west Belfast on Monday. The incident occurred at a house in the Falls Road area of the city just before 1am. A man, woman and two children were inside when two shotgun rounds were fired at the property.

Pharmacy robbed in Ballymena
Detectives in Ballymena are appealing for information following an armed robbery at a pharmacy in the Dunclug area of the town on Thursday evening. Shortly after 5.30pm, two masked men armed with knives entered the shop and threatened staff, before making off with a quantity of prescription drugs.
