Father of UVF victim received death threats

The father of loyalist paramilitary murder victim Raymond McCord Jnr, has received a second death threat from the Ulster Volunteer Force (UVF).

This is second threat that has been made to Raymond McCord over the past 24-hours.

It is understood that police contacted Mr McCord earlier today, to warn him that they had received information from the loyalist paramilitary organisation that they were planning to kill him because he has been co-operating with the Ombudsman Nuala O`Loan in the investigation into his son's murder eight years ago.

Raymond McCord Junior, 22, was beaten to death by members of the UVF and his body left at a quarry in 1997.

Since his death, his father has continuously campaigned against the organisation in a bid to bring his killers to justice.
