Murder inquiry launched in north Belfast
A murder inquiry has been launched after a man in his 20s died following a serious assault in north Belfast yesterday.
The incident took place in a flat on the Antrim Road just before 9am on Sunday.
The man suffered serious head injuries in the attack and was taken to hospital for treatment where he later died.
A female who was also in the flat at the time suffered minor injuries.
Two men from the Belfast area have been arrested in connection with the attack and are helping police with their enquiries.
Detectives leading the investigation have appealed for anyone with information about the attack to contact police on 028 9065 0222 or alternatively Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

Youths Charged With Maghera Murder
Two teenagers have been charged with the murder of Piotr Krowka in Maghera earlier this year. The body of the 36-year-old Polish national, who was homeless at the time, was found in a derelict building on the Glen Road on Tuesday 03 April. Mr Krowka had suffered serious injuries to his head and body.

Machete Attack In South Belfast
A man received serious facial injuries in a machete attack in south Belfast. The attack, which occurred at around 2.15am on Sunday in Glenmachen Street, left the victim with a serious facial injury. Police later had a report of a man seen with a machete in the Sandy Row area. Police have appealed for any witnesses to the attack to contact them.

A man is in a serious condition in hospital after being stabbed in west Belfast. The attack happened in the Hawthorn Street area at around 1.40pm on Thursday. The victim is believed to be in his 30s. A section of Hawthorn Street was closed and police examined the area. Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

Teens Held As West Belfast Death Probed
A murder investigation has been launched following the death of a man in west Belfast. He was Seamus Fox, a 58-year-old who lived at Horn Drive, off the Suffolk Road. Two 18-year-olds have been arrested in connection with the shock killing which police said was the result of a "very brutal attack".
