Three arrested in connection with city centre attack

Three men have been arrested in connection with an attack in Belfast city centre at the weekend which has left a man fighting for his life.

Justin Kirkpatrick, 23, from Ahoghill in County Antrim, sustained serious head injuries after he was attacked in the Dunbar Link area of the city in the early hours of Sunday morning.

It is understood that Mr Kirkpatrick had been on a night out with friends when the assault happened.

Detectives at Musgrave Street have appealed for anyone who may have witnessed the attack, or anyone who may have any information in relation to it, to contact them on: 0845 600 8000, or anonymously on the Crimestoppers number on: 0800 555 111.

Three released on bail over city attack
Three males arrested in connection with a serious assault in west Belfast last weekend, have been released on bail pending further inquiries. The arrests were made in connection with an attack on a man aged in his 20s, outside a bowling club on the Andersonstown Road area of the city at around 11.30pm last Friday night.

Primark Donates £500,000 To Support Businesses Affected By Fire
Retailer Primark is donating £500,000 to Belfast City Council's City Recovery Investment Fund. The fund is being set up after a number of businesses have been severely affected by the fire at the Bank Buildings which happened over three weeks ago. A cordon remains in place and 14 firms have been closed for up to four months.

Three youths arrested after paint bomb attack
Three youths were arrested last night after paint bombs and stones were thrown at police in Londonderry. The officers were targeted at around 23:00 in the Fahan Street area. Earlier it had been reported that a paint bomb was thrown at a house in the Fountain area.
