New Tesco Store To Create 250 Jobs

Up to 250 jobs are to be created by the opening of a new Tesco store in County Fermanagh.

The store is to be built on the site of the current Enniskillen Rangers football ground in the Dublin Road area of the town, which Tesco are understood to have paid £1 million to the club in order for them to give up their long-term lease on the ground.

Building on the new store will is due to begin next month, with the store expected to open in autumn 2007.

The new supermarket will have parking facilities to cater for up to 400 cars.

Tesco have said that it would be using over 1,500 local products including dairy products, meat and poultry.

The announcement was welcomed today by Employment and Learning Minister Dr Stephen Farry as recruitment opened for the new store. The Minister described the jobs boost as good news for jobseekers in the Newry area.
