Man treated in hospital following abduction

A man has been treated in hospital after being beaten up in an abduction at the weekend.

The 18-year-old was bundled into a car as he walked between Cedar Park and the Brae Road area of Bleary in Craigavon on Saturday night.

Driven around for several hours, the man was repeatedly beaten by a number of men.

He was later dumped in the Carn area of Portadown in the early hours of Sunday morning.

He was treated in hospital for his injuries and for shock.

NI Misses Cancer Treatment Targets
Northern Ireland's hospitals have failed to meet target times for the treatment of patients referred for suspected cancer, a new report by the Department of Health revealed. Its guidelines say 95% of patients should begin their treatment within 62 days. Last December however, the figure stood at 81%, which was the third monthly fall in a row.

Man Treated In Hospital After Canoe Accident
A man has been treated in hospital following a canoeing accident in Strangford Lough. Police received reports at 11.20am yesterday that a man was in difficulties after his canoe had overturned in the incident near Cloughey. A jet-skier, who was in the lough, made his way to the wounded 58-year-old and brought him to safety.

A man is being treated in hospital after an armed gang broke into his north Belfast home on Wednesday. A number of masked men armed with a gun, a knife and a baton broke into the house at Greymount Parade shortly before midnight.

Man treated in hospital following flat fire
A man has been treated in hospital for smoke inhalation after being rescued from a fire at his flat in west Belfast. The fire is believed to have started at the flat on the Suffolk Road when a toilet roll, soaked in flammable liquid, was pushed through the letterbox.

Man treated in hospital following shooting
A man has been treated in hospital following a paramilitary-style attack in Co Antrim this morning. The 20-year-old victim was walking along the Dough Road, Ballyclare at around 12.10am when he was approached by three masked men.
