Two critical following road crash

Pupils in year 12 at Glastry College in Ballyhalbert have been told not to come to school following the death of a fellow pupil yesterday.

The 16-year-old schoolboy, named as Matthew Holohan, was killed in a car crash on the coast road between Ballyhalbert and Portavogie. Three other people in the car were injured in the collision. Two of the injured are in a critical condition, one is said to have injuries that are not believed to be life threatening.

It is reported that three schoolboys and an older friend were on their way to school to sit tests.

The crash, which is understood to have involved only one vehicle, occurred at around 10.00am.

Police have appealed for any witnesses to come forward.
