Appeal for missing man relaunched

Detective investigating the disappearance of 21-year-old Martin Kelly who went missing exactly one-year ago yesterday, have today relaunched their appeal for information on the 40-minute period before he disappeared.

Martin was last seen leaving Pat's Bar in Garmoyle Street in the docklands area of Belfast on New Year's Day 2006.

Despite numerous appeals, and searches throughout the UK, Martin, a plumber and part-time bar man, has not been found.

Detective Chief Inspector Jeff Smyth from the PSNI today said that detectives were particularly interested in a 40-minute period, during which, Martin left the bar and then returned between 6.30pm and 7.10pm.

Martin is described as being around 6' 1" in height, of slim build, with short dark hair and green eyes.

On the day of his disappearance, he was wearing a black Guinness T-shirt and blue jeans.

Police are particularly interested in speaking to two men who were seen in the area at the time, who may have been in contact with Martin.

One is described as being bald and was seen in the area at around 8.20pm, while the other was spotted in the Corporation Street area at around 8.30pm.

Police have asked for the men to come forward.

Alternatively, anyone who may know of Martin's whereabouts or who may have any information relating to his disappearance, are asked to contact police.
