Man released in hospice deaths probe

A 31-year-old man who was arrested yesterday in connection with a number of suspicious deaths at a Dublin hospice in 1997 and 1998, has been released from custody pending further inquiries.

It is understood that the man was arrested in County Antrim after handing himself in to Antrim Road police station, claiming to have been involved in up to six deaths at Our Lady's Hospice in Harold's Cross, Dublin.

Gardai travelled to Northern Ireland to take part in the investigation.

Mo Flynn, the Chief Executive of the hospice confirmed that the man had worked in the hospice in 1997 and 1998, however added that at this stage that police have no definite indication that a crime had been committed.

She said: "At this stage, all I do know is the gardai have assured us that, to date, they don't have any indication that those deaths referred to are suspicious."

Man Arrested Over 1998 Car Bomb
A man has been arrested in connection with a car bomb attack on Moira police station in 1998. The 47-year-old was detained by police in the Dungannon area of County Tyrone on Wednesday morning and taken to Antrim PSNI station for questioning.
