Gas leak alert in County Tyrone ends

A number of homes and offices in County Tyrone were evacuated following a suspected gas leak in the area.

The alarm was raised shortly before 2pm today in the Bowling Green area of Strabane.

The Fire and Rescue service were called to the scene and a bulk pipe at a local public house was examined.

The alert has subsequently ended.

Security alert in County Tyrone ends
A security alert in County Tyrone has ended. A blast bomb type device was discovered in the front garden of a house in the Strahulter Road area of Newtownstewart after searches by PSNI officers. Army Technical Officers were tasked to the scene and a controlled explosion was carried out on the device.

Police investigate ‘suspicious’ death in Strabane
Police in Strabane are investigating the suspicious death of a 43-year-old woman in the town. The body of the woman was discovered in a house in the Churchview area of Strabane, County Tyrone last night. It is understood a man is currently assisting police with their enquiries. There are no further details at present.

Missing Tyrone woman Lyndsey Rankin has been found safe and well. A major search operation launched in west Tyrone after the 28-year-old went missing from the Killen area. She was last seen at around 9.45pm on Monday, 02 October.
