Arson attack in County Antrim

Police in County Antrim are investigating an arson attack in the early hours of this morning.

The incident happened at around 3.30am this morning, when three men threw paint at a house in the Ballymather Road area of Antrim.

The gang also poured a flammable liquid over two cars parked outside, destroying one of the vehicles and severely damaging the other.

The offenders then made their escape in a car, which was parked opposite the damaged property.

Anyone who may have witnessed the attack or who may have any information on those responsible for the attack, are asked to contact police in Antrim on 0845 600 8000, or anonymously on the Crimestoppers number on 0800 555 111.

FAMILY ESCAPE INJURY AFTER GUN ATTACK ON HOME
TWO shots were fired through the living room window of a house in the Sunnylands estate in Carrickfergus, County Antrim, shortly after 1am on Wednesday morning. A family, including a three-year-old child, escaped injury in the gun attack on their home in the mainly loyalist area of Carrickfergus.

Four Dead On Roads
The death of a teenager driver following a car accident in County Antrim overnight and another today in Co Down has brought the weekend death toll on local roads to four. The young man died at Carnlough Road outside the village of Broughshane at about 1.20am on Monday morning.

Cars Set Alight In Antrim Arson Attack
The Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service (NIFRS) has said three cars were "deliberately" set alight in County Antrim, an attack that has been condemned by Ulster Unionist Councillor Darryl Wilson. The NIFRS sent four fire appliances to the scene at Deffrick, Ballymoney, on Sunday evening. No one is believed to have been hurt.

Man's Body Recovered On The North Antrim Coast
The body of a man has been recovered on the north Antrim coast. Police attended the scene following the sudden death of a man in the area of Dunce Road in Portrush on Tuesday morning, 02 November. The death is not being treated as suspicious at this time.

Flood Warning As Heavy Downpours Expected
It's set to be a rainy weekend with heavy downpours forecast for Saturday, 09 November. The Met Office warned of a chance of flooding and travel disruption as the band of heavy rain sweeps Northern Ireland, mainly across the east. A yellow weather alert will be in place for counties Antrim, Armagh and Down from 5am until 8pm.
