A Job Well Done By The Employment Service
A recent survey has shown that the Employment Service continues to deliver results for Northern Ireland employers.
Social and Market Research (SMR) carried out research on behalf of the Department for Employment and Learning by conducting telephone interviews with employers.
The findings of the survey are very positive, with the overall levels of satisfaction increasing from 77 per cent to 90 per cent between 2004 and 2006. It highlighted that there has been a significant growth in employer awareness of JobCentreOnline during this period, with more than 20 per cent of vacancies being placed online. Employers are very complimentary of the service, with 97 per cent finding the entire process of placing a vacancy quick and easy to use. Figures from the survey have confirmed that the Employment Service aided 78 per cent of employers in filling vacancies within an appropriate timescale.
The department operates a network of 35 offices across Northern Ireland to enable jobseekers to find employment and employers to fill vacancies.

JobBridge Is A Pathway To Full-Time Employment – Coffey

Consultation On New Employment Programme Launched
Employment and Learning Minister Dr Stephen Farry today launched a public consultation on a proposed new employment programme for Northern Ireland. The new programme, which has been called provisionally Steps 2 Success (NI), will replace the Department’s main adult return to work provision, Steps to Work, which was introduced in September 2008.
