Armed gang rob family in Antrim

Police in Antrim are appealing for information following an aggravated robbery in the area on Monday.

An armed gang forced their way into a house in the Cedars area at around 9.30pm on Monday.

The gang, who were armed with a hand-gun and a sawn-off shotgun, locked a woman and her children in a bedroom, while they forced her husband to hand over a number of legally-owned firearms.

None of the family were physically injured, however they were badly shaken.

Police have described one of the assailants as being aged in his 20s, about 5ft 3ins tall, of stocky build with a round face.

He was wearing a hooded top a hat, with jeans and trainers.

A second man was described as being around a similar age, about 5ft 10ins, tall and of skinny build. He was wearing a navy hooded top and a balaclava.

Police are asking for anyone with any information of the incident to contact them at Antrim on 0845 600 8000 or alternatively they can be contacted confidentially at Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

Appeal For Information On Kilkeel Arson Attacks
The PSNI have issued an appeal for information following the report of two arson incidents in the Kilkeel area. It was reported to police that at around 2.25am on Monday 06 May, that a Volkswagen Passat parked in the Munro Villas area had the windows smashed and an accelerant poured inside. The vehicle was set alight and extensively damaged.

Appeal Following Serious Assault And Robbery In Antrim
PSNI detectives have issued an appeal for information and witnesses after a man was assaulted and robbed in Antrim during the early hours of Monday, 18 March. The 26-year-old was walking in an alleyway adjacent to Seacash Drive at around 3.50am when he was approached by two men.

Police Investigate Armed Robbery At Ballycastle Supermarket
An investigation has been launched following the armed robbery of a supermarket in Ballycastle on Tuesday, 09 April. It was reported to police, that at around 11pm a masked man entered the Castle Street store carrying a spray bottle of an unknown substance. The man approached a cashier and demanded money, threatening them with the spray bottle.

Man Arrested For Headbutting Female Police Officer
A 22-year-old man has been arrested in Newry for assaulting a police officer. While responding to a domestic related report, a local female officer was headbutted to the head, which caused swelling and bruising. The officer was seen by medical staff and her injuries were not more serious and she felt well enough to remain on duty.
