Man remanded in custody following Portrush murder
A Coleraine man has been remanded in custody charged with the murder of 24-year-old Brian Caskey outside a Portrush nightclub on Tuesday morning.
Mark James Morrison, 23, of Milburn Road, Coleraine was accused of Mr Caskey's murder at Coleraine Magistrates Court earlier today.
Mr Morrison made no reply when the charge was read to him. He has been remanded in custody to appear again by video link next month.
Mr Caskey's body was found in the Station Square area of Portrush shortly before 2am on Tuesday. Police had been studying footage of a nearby CCTV camera in the hope it would provide clues into how Mr Caskey died.
Politicians in the northwest, including East Londonderry MP Gregory Campbell who described Mr Caskey's death as tragic, roundly condemned the death.
