Toomebridge attack man in 'serious' condition

An 18-year-old man is in a serious condition following an attack in Toomebridge, County Antrim.

A police spokesperson said that the man had suffered head injuries after he was assaulted by another man in Toombridge at around 00:45am on Tuesday.

The victim is said to be in a serious but stable condition in hospital.

CCTV footage is being examined by police, who want to hear from anyone in the area of licensed premises in the Hillhead Road area around the time of the attack.

Five die on NI roads over the weekend
Five people have died on Northern Ireland's roads over the weekend. In Co Tyrone last night, two people died when a car and a four-wheel-drive collided just outside the village of Augher. A woman passenger in the car is still in critical condition following the accident.

Man Dies In Portadown Road Crash
An 18-year-old man has died following a collision in Portadown. The crash happened on the Dungannon Road between midnight and 12.30am on Wednesday, 08 November. The road has been re-opened. Elsewhere, a man, aged in his 30's, has died in a road collision in Co Antrim.

Man Stabbed In West Belfast
A man is in a serious condition in hospital after being stabbed in west Belfast. The attack happened in the Hawthorn Street area at around 1.40pm on Thursday. The victim is believed to be in his 30s. A section of Hawthorn Street was closed and police examined the area. Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.
