Streisand announces first Irish gig

Barbara Streisand has announced she will be performing for the first ever time in Ireland.

Streisand, who received rave reviews for her US tour, will be performing live at Castletown House in Dublin on Saturday 14 July 2007.

The concert will be part of a European tour, which her many fans have been eagerly anticipating for years.

The concerts announced today in Austria, France, Ireland and the UK follow on from her record-breaking US tour last autumn.

“What a joy it will be to perform in so many wonderful countries for the first time,” Streisand said.

“I can’t wait to experience these different audiences and different cultures.”

Tickets start at 118.50 Euro and are on sale on Friday 11 May at 9am.

Student Awarded £2,000 After Security Confiscate Lucozade Bottle
A student from Belfast who has Type 1 Diabetes has been awarded £2,000 after security personnel confiscated a bottle of Lucozade from her at a Red Hot Chili Peppers concert. Kayla Hanna, was on her way into the concert at Boucher Road, Belfast in August 2016 when the bottle of Lucozade was taken from her by security working for Eventsec.

Proms In The Park To Return To Titanic Slipways
The BBC's Proms in the Park is set to return to the Titanic Slipways in Belfast on Saturday, 08 September. The event remains one of BBC Northern Ireland's most ambitious and popular outside broadcasts. Approximately 11,000 people are expected to attend the event, which is supported by Belfast City Council.

40,000 To Attend Foo Fighters Belfast Gig
The Foo Fighters are set to kick off Belfast Vital to a crowd of 40,000 people tonight, Monday 19 August. Police have outlined a number of road closures ahead of the concert at Boucher Road Playing Fields in south Belfast.

Primark Announces Reopening Date For Belfast Store
Primark has revealed it will reopen its Belfast store on 08 December. The retailer will open the extension at the back of Bank Buildings for business, following the devastating blaze in August. A company spokesperson also confirmed plans for a new store in Fountain House, the current home of New Look. It is planned to open in Spring 2019.

David Ford Announces Retirement
Former Alliance leader David Ford has announced that he is to retire as an MLA. Mr Ford will officially step down from the role on 30 June, completing 20 years since he took his seat as MLA for South Antrim on July 1, 1998. He served as Alliance Leader between 2001 and 2016, as well as being Justice Minister from 2010-2016.
