Man opens fire at Belfast pub
A shooting has taken place at a pub in Belfast city centre.
The incident took place at around 1:00am outside Fibber Magee’s bar in Blackstaff Square. It is understood a masked man fired a number of shots in the area. However, there were no reported injuries.
Police have revealed a man had earlier been refused entry to the bar at about 12:30am. He had made a threatening gesture to the doorman, suggesting he would come back and shoot him.
Fibber Magee’s is a bar attached to Robinson’s and is a popular venue for traditional music.

Two men arrested in connection with McCartney murder

Man in court over pub shooting
A man is due to appear in court today in connection with a shooting which took place in Belfast last week. The incident occurred at around 1am on Friday morning, when a man fired a number of shots at the door of Fibber Magee’s in Blackstaff Square. There were no injuries during the attack.

Man beaten with iron bar at home
A man has been beaten with an iron bar at his home in Markethill, Co Armagh. The man, who is believed to be in his 60's, was asleep with his wife when three men burst into his bedroom and struck him on the head. They then ransacked the house and made off with a sum of money.

A ‘punishment’ style attack on three men at Oakvale Park in the Ballysally area of Coleraine has been condemned by the SDLP Mayor of Coleraine John Dallat. The incident, in which a 20-year-old man was shot and two other men were injured with an iron bar, took place on June 17 2002.

Man Hospitalised In Belfast Shooting
A man has been taken to hospital after being shot in both legs in North Belfast. The incident in the Antrim Road area took place at around 10.15pm on Wednesday 31 May. Cordons were put in place around the area and police are appealing for anyone with relevant information to contact 101 quoting reference number 2345 of 31/05/23.
