Police appeal after attempted child abduction

Detectives in County Down are appealing for information following reports a man tried to lure a 10-year-old child into his car.

It is understood the incident took place at 8:45am in the Parsonage Road area of Kircubbin.

The man has been described as between 40 to 50 years of age, with balding hair which is grey-brown at the sides, and a white beard.

He was driving a green car and wearing a denim jacket and a black shirt.

Police are asking for anyone who may have noticed anything suspicious in the Parsonage Road area of Kircubbin to contact them on: 0845 600 8000 or alternatively on the confidential Crimestoppers line: 0800 555 111.

Police have renewed their appeal following a fatal road crash in the Carryduff area on Friday 22 May. An elderly man was killed in the collision which occurred on the Ballynahinch Road at around 5pm.
