Winning results as Belfast company partners Microsoft
A new enterprise document management product by Belfast-based technology company Meridio was awarded first place in the Document Management Product section at the recent UK-based Information Management Awards 2002.
The joint Microsoft and Meridio entry, which is based on Microsoft SharePoint Portal Server, fended off competition from some 19 other category finalists to take the award. The ‘Meridio for Microsoft SharePoint Portal Server’ was also recognised with a third place in the 'Product of the Year' category for the Best Overall Information Management Product.
Brian Baird, the CEO of Meridio, said: “Meridio is constantly seeking to innovate in the records and document management sector. SharePoint Portal Server, with its collaborative element among others, was an ideal platform for our latest document management product."
Harry Largey, Group Manager, Microsoft Ireland, said: "Meridio has used Microsoft SharePoint Portal Server in an innovative way and this was no doubt recognised by the award judges.”
An award winner for the past three years, in 2001 Meridio won the Document Management Product of the Year award for its Integrated Electronic Records Management software product, Meridio RM.
In 2000 the Meridio product was the winning software for the Document Management Project of the year award and the gold award for the Premier Project of the year.
The Information Management Awards are the premier industry recognition of excellence and innovation in the management of business information and knowledge in an e-business environment. The success criteria are the delivery of significant and definable business benefits, as well as innovation and originality.
Developing and supplying content and records management software to help organisations provide more effective services to their end-customers, Meridio's enterprise-scale document and records management engine is particularly suitable for underpinning mission critical e-business and e-commerce systems.
