Courier robbed in rush-hour traffic
A courier riding along the Westlink in Belfast has been robbed at knifepoint by a gang of four men.
At around 4pm yesterday, the dispatch rider was travelling along the Westlink when he pulled up before traffic light at the junction for the Grosvenor Road.
While he waited, a black car with four men on board stopped behind him and three of the men approached him. One was armed with a knife, which was put to the rider’s throat whilst the other two pulled a sack from his back. The men got back into the car and made off along the Grosvenor Road and into Cullingtree Road.
It is understood the stolen sack contained a number of cheques.
The dispatch rider was uninjured.
Police at Grosvenor Road are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident to contact them on 028 90650222 or Crimestoppers can be contacted on 0800 555 111.

Police Appeal After Man Attacked In Co Antrim
Police are appealing for information after a man was attacked in Ballymena, Co Antrim. The assault happened in the North Road area at around 3.30am on Sunday, 29 January. A gang of four or five men attacked the victim, aged 37. He was taken to hospital where his condition has been described as "serious".

Man Armed With Hatchet Arrested Following Altercation In West Belfast
A man, allegedly armed with a hatchet, has been arrested following an altercation in west Belfast. The incident happened in the Grosvenor Road area just after midnight. The 20-year-old man stole a necklace and a bracelet during a confrontation with two people, according to the police. A car window was also smashed in the incident.
