Appeal on south Belfast robbery and imprisonment

Detectives in south Belfast are investigating reports of a robbery and false imprisonment in the Dunluce Avenue area.

Shortly after 7:30pm on Saturday 9 May a man in his late teens approached two youths aged 13 and 14.

He threatened them with a hunting knife and dragged them into a nearby alley, where he robbed them. He then forced them to look on while he attempted to burgle a house.

The young boys managed to escape and raise the alarm at a nearby house.

He is described as being around 5ft 8ins tall, of skinny build with dark hair and a long pointed nose. He was wearing a gold hoop chain, dark Lacoste tracksuit, a Rangers football shirt and black Nike trainers with a yellow tick. He also referred to himself as 'Scott'.

Police in the area are asking for anyone with information or who may have witnessed the event to contact them.
