Man charged with two assaults

A 23-year-old man has appeared in Belfast Magistrates Court today in relation to two separate attacks in the city.

Ryan Subryan of Dunmurry Lane faces seven charges including kidnapping, making threats to kill, possession of a firearm and assault with intent to rape.

The charges follow an incident in the Dunluce Avenue area in south Belfast, when a woman was allegedly forced into a car at gunpoint.

The woman managed to escape after 30 minutes of being driven around surrounding streets in the area.

It is understood the same man is also charged in relation to an incident in Belfast’s Harbour Estate on Saturday, when another woman was attacked. He is charged with false imprisonment, indecently assaulting a woman and making further threats to kill and assault with intent to rape.

A woman had left a city centre bat when the incident took place at around 1:30am.
